Among movie industry crews, Langley must be known as THE place to shoot Christmas.
With literally dozens – likely hundreds – of holiday movies having been filmed in and around Langley through the decades, it’s no surprise to downtown Langley City residents and business operators that crews are back in town this week shooting another.
Maggie’s Christmas Miracle, a Hallmark movie, is being filmed today (Thursday) and Friday along the one-way stretch of Fraser Highway.
Crews spent much of Wednesday and part of Thursday morning “dressing” the set, primarily a strip along the south side of the highway “where our actors walk and talk on the sidewalks between McBurney Plaza North and Penny Pinchers,” said assistant location manager Victor Sanchez.
Much of the filming will be done at night, with some shooting extending into the early morning hours of Saturday, he posted in a notice to area businesses.
This movie, directed by Michale Robison and produced by Cynde Harmon and Kim Arnott, is being shot in different locations through until the middle of this month, and set to air next month.
The movie stars Jill Wagner and Luke Mcfarlane.
It tells the story of Maggie, who spent one unforgettable summer with a boy when they were teens.
In true Hallmark style, she’s never forgotten his magical definition of love.
Now a high-powered attorney in New York and a single mother, her young son Jordan unexpectedly connects them again. And with the help of faith and fate, Maggie discovers anything is possible.
Postings from Twitter indicate some of the filming for this show might have been taking place as far east as Aldergrove, as well.
