Classic Steps Stage Production is just one of the returning acts to the entertainment stage at the Surrey Museum Plaza this year.

Stuffed with blueberry pie and ready to get out of the sun? Take a stroll under the tent at the Surrey Museum Plaza on Aug. 10, home of the ArtWalk.

Presented by the Arts Council of Surrey during the Cloverdale Blueberry Festival, the ArtWalk features about 20 different artists showcasing and selling their work, some of who will also be participating in an adjudicated competition.

It’s all part of the 9th Annual Blueberry Arts Festival, although the art doesn’t necessarily have to be about blueberries.

The winner of this year’s “Best of Show” will take home a Lyre Wooden Studio Easel, while second and third place will receive a canvas package, and a brush and acrylic paint set, respectively, all generously donated by DeSerres.

“It’s mostly for fun, and a little bit for competition,” event coordinator Jennifer Wyatt said.

Crafters and artisans will also be on site selling their handmade wares, everything from Barbie doll clothing and pottery to woodworking and silverware jewelry, Wyatt said.

In addition, there will be a henna section and kids’ kiosk.

As part of the arts festival, the Arts Council has also organized live entertainment at the plaza from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (see sidebar for a complete schedule). Performing arts director Paula Cooper said there will be everything from a Polynesian dance and Korean drum group to two separate young singer/songwriters.
