Calgary’s Kynan Vine (left) and Port Moody’s Shannon Day have been hired by the Cloverdale Rodeo and Exhibition Association to fill roles left vacant after Jamie Rogers passed away suddenly in June, 2024.

Two new faces will wrangle sponsors and rodeo-goers for the 77th Cloverdale Rodeo and the 134th Country Fair this year.

The Cloverdale Rodeo and Exhibition Association (CREA) has lassoed a woman from Port Moody and man from Calgary to fill roles previously held by Jamie Rogers. Rogers held the positions of both administrator of rodeo affairs and sponsorship services for many years. He passed away suddenly in June, 2024 at the age of 68.

Calgary’s Kynan Vine takes the rodeo producer’s reins and Port Moody’s Shannon Day jumps into the saddle for sponsorship services.

"After the heartbreaking loss of Jamie Rogers this past year, we're excited to welcome Kynan Vine … and Shannon Day,” said Kathy Sheppard, president of CREA. “Their passion and expertise bring fresh energy to the Cloverdale Rodeo family. Together, they'll help honour Jamie's legacy, take the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair to new heights, and ensure it remains a memorable experience for our community and guests.”

Both Vine and Day will be tasked with building on the rodeo’s post-COVID success and some recent record-breaking numbers over the past two events.

A short bio on Vine, provided by CREA, notes Vine has a lot of experience putting on big events and putting on rodeo events.

“As a second-generation rodeo cowboy and rancher, Vine possesses a deep-rooted knowledge of the western industry and business acumen honed over years of involvement with major rodeo productions, including the Calgary Stampede, the American Rodeo, and the Canadian Finals Rodeo,” the bio reads. “His leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of the Cloverdale Rodeo, ensuring it remains a premier showcase of Western heritage and culture.”

A short bio on Day, also provided by CREA, notes Day has a lot of experience with corporate engagement and in building relationships.

“As the owner of Lift Fitness and Physiotherapy in Port Moody for 14 years, she has worked with elite athletes and built strong community relationships,” the bio reads. “She is dedicated to forging meaningful partnerships, ensuring sponsors receive maximum visibility and value from their involvement, and bringing people together to deliver meaningful impacts that extend beyond the event gates.”
