Surrey Libraries is calling for original poetry submissions for a contest commemorating Surrey’s new City Hall and Civic Plaza. The contest theme is Celebrating Surrey’s Past and Future. The winning entry will receive a $250 prize.

The contest is open to Surrey residents ages 19 and up. Poems should be maximum 50 lines in length, and can be in any style and previously unpublished.

Entry deadline is May 31.

The new Surrey Civic Plaza is currently under construction next to City Centre Library is expected to be completed in the fall.
