Saturday, Nov. 9 will be a big night at New Westminster's Anvil Theatre, where Michael Dunn and many musical pals will debut live versions of songs featured on an album 40 years in the making, apparently.
Released in 2023, the Michael Dunn Project's Bridge Across the Years classic-rocks with the sounds of '70s and '80s music made famous by Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones and other massive bands of the era.
Years ago, Dunn was a trainee recording engineer at Vancouver’s long-gone Mushroom Studios, and his credits include music by Ringo Starr, Bryan Adams, Trooper, Chilliwack, Prism and more.
For the concert in New West, Dunn has assembled a 12-piece band that includes Marc Gladstone (keys, Prism), Clayton Hill (drummer, Trooper), Mike Russell, singers Joani Bye and Cathy St. Germain, and others. Tickets are sold for $65 on anviltheatre.ca, where album and concert promo videos are posted.
Partial proceeds will be donated to the New Westminster Secondary School band program, "to help support the great work they do in instilling a love of music in young people," the website notes.
