Choices Markets in South Surrey is holding a prostate cancer awareness pancake breakfast and fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Last year, Prostate Cancer Canada's event raised $1,400. This year's goal is set for $2,000.
Local support group PCCN-Surrey (Prostate Cancer Canada Network) will be in attendance to answer questions for anyone who wants to know more about prostate cancer, or about what to do when you or someone who know is diagnosed.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in Canadian men and will affect one in six in their lifetime. The PCCN estimates that number will rise to one-in-four in the next decade.
