A waxing moon rises above Surrey, B.C., in the early evening of July 20, 2013 – 44 years after U.S. astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon in the Sea of Tranquility on July 20, 1969, as part of the Apollo 11 mission, taking their first steps on the surface on July 21.

Michael Collins manned the command spacecraft in lunar orbit.
