Interested in delving a little deeper into your family history?

The Cloverdale Library is home to one of the largest Canadian family history collections in the country.

The library presents a series of upcoming workshops that can help you make use of its extensive resources, programs and expertise.

First up is An Introduction to Family History, presented Saturday, Sept. 24 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

If you want to trace your family history but don't know where to start, this should be your first stop. Find out what's available and where, how to document what you find, and learn some tips and tricks unique to genealogy. Cost is $10.

Start Searching Your Family History is a beginner's workshop presented in five weekly lessons, starting Sept. 19.

Participants will work with their own materials, and with support from one another, to discover their own motives, set goals for their research, organize and evaluate their data, and plan the first stage of their individual projects.

Participants must be able to commit to attending all five sessions, which run Monday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $100 for the series.

The Third Annual Family History Show and Tell, Saturday, Nov. 5, is a chance to share family history with other like-minded souls.

Past show and tells have included family quilts, artfully done scrapbooks, storyboards, digital collages and more.

Bring your story – or showcase your items. A laptop with Internet access will be available, along with a projector.

Visitors without stories are welcome to see and listen. It's presented Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. No charge, but donations welcome.

The final presentation is Were Your People Really Irish? on Saturday, Nov. 26 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Cost is $10.
