Organizers of Sleighin’ Cancer, a Christmas-themed fundraiser at The Henry Public House last month, say the event raised more than $10,000 for the cause.

The Dec. 22 Twins Cancer Fundraising party in Cloverdale featured DJ Shrew. Guests helped Jamie Ruscheinski and his brother Chris raise $10,500, with all proceeds going to the Shaun G. Foundation, set up to honour the memory of a close friend, who had helped the Ruscheinskis with previous cancer fundraisers.

The Twins Cancer Fundraising project is an initiative in memory of the Ruscheinski brothers’ mom, who lost her fight with cancer 10 years ago.

Since starting out with a party that drew a crowd of 400 to their Shannon Hills back yard, the twins have helped raise more than $500,000.

This July, the twins are planning a large, outdoor country concert at the Cloverdale Millennium Ampitheatre.
