Ukrainian Soul Food

Fundraiser for God's Little Acre

The Rick and Sue Diamond Foundation presents Faith Like Potatoes, based on a true story. Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Clova Cinema, 5732 176 Street, at 4 p.m. All funds raised go to God's Little Acre Farm. Admission $10. A bag of red potatoes will be given to every attendee. Halloween Costume Parade

A supervised trick or treat parade visiting local stores Saturday, Oct. 26 starting at Surrey Museum Plaza. Charity barbecue, exotic animal exhibit, activities at the Surrey Museum and more. Registration: noon to 1:45 p.m. Group photo: 2 p.m., and parade starts after that. Prizes awarded by random draw after the groups return to the plaza. Presented by the Cloverdale District Chamber of Commerce and the Cloverdale Business Improvement Association.

 

Pumpkin Power

Crafts and activities at the Surrey Museum, 17710 56A Ave. from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26. Design your own take-home Jack-o'-Lantern, do crafts, and taste some pie then join in the costume parade. All ages, by donation. For more information call 604-582-6956 or visit surrey.ca/heritage.

Concerned about your kids surfing the net? Clicky the Robot teaches kids how to use Netsmartz tools to be safer online. B.C. Vintage Truck Museum – Help wanted!

The Surrey Heritage Society is looking for volunteers to help out with the new BC Vintage Truck Museum (6022 176 Street) located on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds. Our members are looking to have the museum open to the general public on Saturday's from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. every week through the year. We will

Singers wanted

Do you like to sing? if so, come and join the Silvertone Singers.  It is a Seniors Community Choir and we practice on Thursdays at 1 p.m. at the Cloverdale Rec Centre at 62 Avenue  and 176 Street. We sing a large variety of music and entertain at senior care homes and assisted living homes. Even though we sing our music in parts, we do not hold auditions. Everyone is welcome. Why not join the South Surrey Garden Club? Visitors welcome; $3 drop in fee credited to annual membership of $20.
