Looking to stock up on some great, affordable, summer reading?

Cloverdale residents won't have to go far for bargains.

SOS Children's Village B.C. has been holding weekly used book sales this summer at its head office in Cloverdale (102-5830 176A Street) and other locations in the community.

The society offers programs and support to local foster children and vulnerable youth.

The goal is to raise between $1,000 to $1,500 for the society's after-school Homework Club.

Last year, the society raised more than $500 and re-circulated 1,000 gently-used books into the community.

Browse for bargains (prices range from 50 cents to $3) every Thursday this month at the SOS Childrens' Villages B.C. office from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will also be a book sale at the Cloverdale Library Saturday, Aug. 25 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Township 7 Winery Sunday, Aug. 26 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Donations welcome. Drop off books at the office Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
