Looking to stock up on some great, affordable, summer reading?

Cloverdale residents won't have far to look for bargains.

SOS Childrens' Villages B.C. is holding weekly used book sales in July and August at its head office in Cloverdale at 102-5830 176A Street, in addition to other locations in the community, including the Cloverdale Library.

The society offers programs and support to local foster children and vulnerable youth.

The goal is to raise between $1,000 to $1,500 for the society's after-school Homework Club.

Last year, the society raised more than $500 – and re-circulated 1,000 gently-used books into the community.

Browse for bargains (prices range from just 50 cents to $3) every Thursday at the SOS Childrens' Villages B.C. office from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There's a book sale at the library Saturday, July 21, and on Saturday, August 25. Those will run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days.

PriceSmart Cloverdale hosts an SOS Children's Village BC Book Sale Friday, Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

And on Sunday, Aug. 26, the used book sale will move to Township 7 winery in Langley, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Donations welcome. Drop off books at the office Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
