A guest appearance at Fraser Downs Racetrack and Casino by Canada’s leading standardbred driver on Remembrance Day last fall has resulted in big winnings for the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6 in Cloverdale.

Scott Zeron, a 22-year-old driver from Ontario, won four harness races at the B.C. Breeders Classic Day on Nov. 11. He donated his winnings to the Royal Canadian Legion, a sum matched by Fraser Downs management. Other drivers and trainers also donated $500 to the cause.

Richard Lancaster, a driver/trainer at Fraser Downs, presented the $2,200 cheque to Cloverdale Legion president Pat Ostrom on Feb. 22, at the branch’s annual general meeting.
