The Challenger Baseball program will host a raffle fundraiser at Cloverdale Ball Park on Saturday, April 9, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Challenger Baseball is a new division of the Cloverdale Minor Baseball Association. It’s a Baseball B.C. program that provides children with physical and cognitive disabilities the opportunity to enjoy a season of baseball and to experience being part of a team.

The program is returning for its second year in Cloverdale after an incredibly successful inaugural season in 2016.

The fundraiser supports the free program by providing funds for team uniforms and to pay for transportation costs to the season-end jamboree, an event that brings together all of the Challenger programs in B.C.

Raffle tickets will be one ticket for $2, three tickets for $5, seven tickets for $10 or twenty tickets for $20.

Purchasing raffle tickets will automatically enter you into a draw for a travel pack with travel mugs and first aid kits.

Raffle prizes include certificates for local restaurants, spas and shops; tickets for sports events, including White Caps and BC Lions games; and activities, including paint ball, yoga and golf.

The value of the prizes range from $25 to $450. For a full list, check out Cloverdale Minor Baseball’s event page on Facebook.

The event will be fun for kids as well, as Party Works Interactive will set up a Cars-themed bouncy castle.
