Snowflakes fall as a driver takes a standardbred race horse for a jog around the track at Fraser Downs in Cloverdale.

The landmark racetrack kicks off a new year of live harness racing on New Year's Day, starting at 12:45 p.m.

Races will also get underway this Friday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m.
