Two teams, one goal
Competitive rivals on the pitch, two Surrey United Soccer Club U16 Division 1 girls team took a symbolic united stand this weekend.
Before kickoff at a B.C. Coastal Girls Soccer League derby, both teams donned pink T-shirts proclaiming ‘We are United Against Bullying’.
Additionally, each player has pledged to make a difference by promoting respect and tolerance in all aspects of their lives and to strive towards the elimination of bullying.
Many of the players on both teams live in Cloverdale.
The club sends special appreciation to Matt Wilcott of MVP Athletic Supplies and to photographer Dale Matthews.
