A boost for sledge hockey
SportAbility’s sledge hockey program has received a $5,000 donation from the Surrey Fire Fighter’s Charitable Society.
“SportAbility, together with its athletes, members, and volunteers are very grateful to the Surrey Fire Fighters Charitable Society for aiding them with the means to continue with this program and give both current and aspiring athletes with disabilities the resources to be more active and be part of a different community,” said the Surrey-based society in a press release.
SportAbility will use the donation to purchase sleds, sticks and jerseys for the program.
SportAbility is a non-profit organization that provides athletic and recreational opportunities to people with physical disabilities in sports such as sledge hockey, boccia, powerchair football, paracycling and soccer.
