Two-fer for Tyler
Just a month after winning bronze at the nationals, Team Tardi has been named “Team of the Year” by Curl BC.
The association has also named the team's skip, Tyler Tardi, Junior Male Athlete of the Year.
The team represented B.C. at the Optimist International U-18 Curling Championships, and also won gold at the 2012 B.C. Winter Games.
The team curls out of the Langley curling club, but boasts a strong Cloverdale connection: both Tyler, 13, and his older brother Jordan, 15, play on the team, coached by Paul Tardi.
Teammates Nicholas Meister, second, is from Langley, and lead Zachary Umbach lives in Coquitlam.
The Curl BC awards will be handed out at a luncheon June 9 in Richmond.
