Cloverdale’s Kelsey Robinson, a student at Simon Fraser University, has been recognized for embodying the term student-athlete.

The Clayton Heights Secondary grad has been named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference All Academic Team for the 2011 season.

Robinson, in her second year of post secondary studies, is earning a science degree.

In order to be eligible for the academic team, student athletes have to maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.20 and be in at least their second year of competition.

Robinson has maintained an impressive 3.70 grade point average, all while continuing to meet her athletic demands on the court.

“Time management has been a huge part of my success,” Robinson says. “Productivity is also key, and I always need to be disciplined to stay on top of my tasks.”

Robinson is joined by another B.C. resident and SFU colleague on the GNAC all-athletic team, Chelsea Elvy, who’s carrying a GPA of 3.90 in biological science.

Robinson is also the recipient of the Gordon Shrum entrance

scholarship to SFU, worth $24,000.
