Poem: Boys, Girls, Wives and Husbands

Local wordsmith Mike Stuyt shares a few thoughts on love, inspired by Valentine's Day.

Boys, girls

Wives and husbands

Secret loves

We take each other to dinner

We buy flowers

Chocolate, mostly for the young

A card to say how we feel

We celebrate but once a year

It should be more

Cleaning the floor to make our apologies

The ones we live with

Or the others we dream of

These people that we make part of our lives, we know you

We remember you

We love you

Showing others we care for someone is done commonly with flowers.

The question should be

how else can we show someone we love them?
