Gary DAVIDSON

DAVIDSON, Gary John Albert

Born March 20, 1930 in Vancouver. Gary passed away on January 7, 2010 at Richmond Hospital. He is survived by Jean, his loving and devoted wife of 54 years and children Dawna (Glenn), Kyle (Karey), Linda (Brent) and grandchildren Geoff, Ashley (Dave), Nathan, Jory, Jayme, Marissa and Brody. Predeceased by his father Bev (1985), mother Rosa (1997) and sister Anne (1992).

Gary enjoyed spending time at Quilchena Golf Course, where he recorded 2 holes-in-one, trips to Hawaii, watching his Chicago Bears and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. A lover of music, Gary would break into his own rendition of “New York, New York” whenever an unsuspecting audience would gather! A favourite past time was cruising on a sunny day in his vintage Cutlass convertible.

Like his father before him, Gary’s working life was on Vancouver’s waterfront, the majority of his years with Western Stevedoring. Gary served terms as President of the Plimsol Club and as a member and Director of the Terminal City Club.

A compassionate, kind soul, always a gentleman, a “cool dad”, a wonderful “Bumpa” to his grandchildren, he will be lovingly remembered forever.

A private family service has been held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice
