Dozens of high school students are standing outside Surrey-Cloverdale MLA Kevin Falcon's office this afternoon, hoping to speak with him about school funding.

The students say they decided to take their concerns to Falcon's constituency office in Cloverdale after being told to go back to class or leave school property during the noon hour break today.

As many as 50 students left school and walked to the office, where Falcon's staff apparently relayed the message that he has agreed to meet with him today.

About 400 students staged a walkout first thing this morning at Lord Tweedmuir Secondary in protest over time table changes that are necessary because of cramped conditions.

The students say more provincial funding is needed to build more high schools in Surrey.
