Man rushed to hospital after being stabbed in Whalley

A man is in hospital after being stabbed several times in Whalley.

On Monday afternoon at about 3:30, police responded to a call of a man in distress near the corner of 106 Avenue and 135 A Street in the parking lot of the Whalley Legion.

When police arrived, they found a man in his late teens or early 20s suffering from multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

Police believe the man was in the Front Room Drop-In Centre causing a commotion before he was asked to leave.

He made it about a two doors away before getting into another altercation.

One witness from the drop-in centre, two doors away said he heard the man screaming "stab me if you're going to stab me."

Police said on Tuesday morning his injuries were relatively minor and that he's expected to make a full recovery.
