Police search for suspect who grabbed Clayton Heights student
Surrey RCMP are looking for a suspicious male who tried grabbing a Clayton Heights Secondary student near Extra Foods in Clayton Heights late last month.
A 14 year-old boy was walking back to the secondary school after lunch when he was grabbed by a stranger near the grocery store.
The student managed to push the man away, and ran back to school. The youth was not injured, and told police the suspect appeared to be following him before he was grabbed.
The suspect, described as a Caucasian male in his late 50s with a slim build, was wearing a black hoodie with the hood up and light blue jeans. He is also described as standing about six feet one inch high and had a grey beard.
“Our investigators have consulted with other specialized sections and so far, we have found no other similar reported cases, as we continue to investigate” Says Cpl. Bert Paquet of the Surrey RCMP.
“While we believe this to be an isolated incident, we need to warn the public and ask for their assistance in reporting suspicious persons or activities.”
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
