Surrey man dies in accident
A Surrey man is dead after his tractor trailer collided with another near Hixon on Monday.
On Jan. 28, Surrey's Balwinder Singh Gill, 53, was traveling southbound on Highway 97 about 10 kilometers north of Hixon BC (between Quesnel and Prince George).
A coroner's release indicates a northbound Super-B unit (tractor with two trailer units) fully loaded with lumber, crossed over the centre line and collided with Gill's vehicle.
Gill died at the scene of the accident.
Road conditions at the time were described as slippery, and it was snowing lightly.
The BC Coroners Service, WorkSafe BC and the RCMP continue to investigate this death.
