UPDATE: Second-degree murder charge in weekend Surrey stabbing
A 54-year-old man has now been charged in connection with the stabbing death of 35-year-old Jeremy McLellan in Surrey on Sunday.
William Engebretsen has been charged with second-degree murder after being arrested at the scene of the killing on Nov. 25.
Police say Engebretsen lived at the apartment near 128 Street and 95 Avenue with McLellan's mother. Jeremy also lived at there.
Surrey RCMP were called to the apartment at about 5:45 p.m. to find Jeremy suffering from stab wounds. He died later in hospital.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is now investigating.
While McLellan had a history with the courts, including a 2008 assault with a weapon charge, Engebretsen has no prior criminal record.
