More than 235,000 ballots have now been received by Elections BC in the Metro Vancouver transit referendum, or 15.1 per cent of all ballots sent out.

That count, as of April 15, consists of ballots that have been through the initial screening process at Elections BC, but doesn’t include others that have been received but not yet opened.

See interactive charts below for breakdown of ballots received by municipality so far.

Vancouver and Surrey together account for more than half of the ballots received so far.

The return rate in Vancouver is 23.4 per cent, followed by 15.9 per cent in White Rock.

Surrey’s rate is 14.1 per cent and most of Metro’s other medium and large cities have returrn rates of 11 to 15 per cent.

Vancouver and Surrey were expected to dominate the count initially, because that’s where ballots were first mailed.
