Body of missing Surrey woman found in North Vancouver
The body of a woman who went missing from Surrey in January has been found in a North Vancouver park.
Police found the body of 40-year-old Jennifer Ferguson in the 2300-block of Kirkstone Road on Feb. 2.
She was reported missing to Surrey RCMP Jan. 30 and had not been seen since a week before that.
She was not known to police.
Police are now confirming the body was discovered wrapped in plastic when it was found.
Investigators believe that the murder occurred elsewhere and that the body was moved to the North Vancouver location.
“Based on what the evidence is telling us, we believe Jennifer was murdered at one location and later placed in the park,” said Corporal Dale Carr of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).
Police are not releasing the cause of death, as it is expected to be used in future for a prosecution.
Investigators are still attempting to find additional information surrounding the length of time Jennifer was at the location on Kirkstone.
