SURREY — An adults-only gathering at Surrey Museum will feature whisky tastings, music that was first recorded a century ago and an opportunity to explore “a hand-picked array of Roaring Twenties artifacts.”

The $18-per-person Surrey Speakeasy event will take place on Thursday evening (June 22, 6:30 to 9 p.m.).

“Whether bootlegger, flapper or shady character, you’ll need a password to enter this speakeasy,” says an event post on the city’s WebReg page. “Whiskey tasting, 1920s artifacts and smoky live blues await behind the museum’s closed doors.”

Music will be performed by Professor Douglas Fraser (online at thegenuinejugband.com), and Mediterranean tapas will be prepped by Greco’s, a specialty-foods store located on King George Highway.

More details are posted at surrey.ca/culture-recreation/21413.aspx., or call 604-592-6956, quoting event number 4525619.

Surrey Museum is located at 17710 56A Ave., Cloverdale.
