Surrey Little Theatre is basking in the glow of a record-breaking box office season and several wins at the recent zone drama festival.

SLT’s Mending Fences won four trophies and earned two honourable mentions at Theatre B.C.’s Fraser Valley Zone Drama Festival, hosted in Langley.

Cast members Paul Cowhig and co-star Robyn Bradley were named Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress, while supporting actor Greg Radzimowski received an honourable mention for his turn in the Norm Foster comedy.

Marko Hohlbein, who won in the category of Outstanding Set Design, also received honourable mention for directing. Dixie Lee Van Oord won Outstanding Set Decoration for her attention to detail for the production.

Next up, SLT is holding auditions next week for its fall production, a mystery-comedy called Catch Me If You Can.

The play, penned by Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert, will be directed by Tyler Seib and runs Oct. 25 to Nov. 17.

Five men ages 35 to 65 and two women aged 25 to 50 are needed. Rehearsals start in September.

Auditions are 7 p.m. June 18 and 19 at Surrey Little Theatre, located at 7027 184 Street. No appointment necessary, just come out on either one of the two nights if you’re interested. There will be a script available in the lobby.

Participants will be exposed to all aspects of theatre, from drama, backstage, makeup and design, to technical aspects of theatre.

The camp concludes with a Friday evening performance for parents and the community.

Cost is $125 for the week. For more information, contact Brigitte Seib at brigitte.seib@surreylittletheatre.com, or register at www.surreylittletheatre.com.
