Bad taste, such fun
Are you seeing packs of prancing reindeer and battalions of swaddled snowmen? Maybe you’ve been sampling too many Christmas libations – nope, it’s just your sweater.
Well, have we got the party for you.
Put on your gaudiest, most outrageous Yuletide sweater and join hosts Chris Boyd and Jordan Birch at the 11th Annual Ugly Christmas Sweater party – billed as “the most fun you can have with your knitwear on” and credited (blamed?) for sparking a trend of ugly sweater parties across the globe.
You’re promised a blast of holiday cheer with music by the Dr. Strangelove Band, Greg Drummond, and the Vancouver Sweet Soul Gospel Choir – plus caroling, eggnog, giveaways and a visit from Santa. Trophies will be awarded to the ugliest sweater, most original sweater, best mustache, and group costume.
Partial proceeds this year will help two cancer-stricken parents of young children, Katrina and Mark Bennett of Langley.
It’s happening Friday, Dec. 21 at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, starting at 8 p.m. A mandatory Ugly Christmas Sweater dress code will be in effect. Tickets available at Ticketmaster.
