Writing contest deadline extended

There's still time to enter the Arts Council of Surrey's writing contest.

The entry deadline has been extended to Sept. 15.

The contest is open to fiction writers, budding novelists, poets and bloggers. All forms of writing are welcome.

Poems (three) should be a maximum of 32 lines. Fiction entries may include either a novel selection, chapter, or short story, with a maximum length of 3,000 words. Non-fiction entries may include articles and blogs, with a maximum length of 3,00 words.

Submissions of plays or screenplays should be no longer than 30 pages.

First place is a three-day pass to the upcoming Surrey International Writers' Conference (Oct. 21-23 at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford hotel in Surrey). Second and third place awards are gift certificates for Chapters.
