Join local historian Warren Sommer on a walking tour of Surrey Centre Cemetery in Cloverdale this Saturday.
The historic 1889 Surrey Centre Cemetery at 16647 Old McLellan Road features the graves of some of our earliest pioneer families.
Sommer is an author and heritage consultant who's written extensively about the history of Langley, where he's made his home since 1979. He's also well-known for his walking tours of cemeteries in the Metro Vancouver region.
His latest book is The Ambitious City: A History of North Vancouver (Harbour, 2007), published to mark the City of North Vancouver's centennial.

The tour is Sat. Aug. 20 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. For ages 16 and up.
