Teams will be lacing up for the 13th annual Surrey Relay for Life this Saturday at the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre in Cloverdale.
The June 20 event is billed as an inspirational, fun-filled, non-competitive fundraiser that celebrates life – and assists in the fight against cancer.
All proceeds from the 12-hour relay (which goes from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.) go to the Canadian Cancer Society in support of cancer research, support programs and prevention initiatives.
Organizers are expecting a wonderful turnout this year, and have set a goal of $100,000. Registration has closed, but donations are welcome.
