A Clayton Heights Secondary graduate has been awarded a scholarship worth $50,000 from the University of Alberta.
Qadeem Salehmohamed was awarded the President's Centenary Entrance Citation from the U. of A., where he's currently enrolled in the faculty of science.
The citation is awarded to "outstanding" students with superior academic achievement who are entering undergraduate degree programs. Students must also write a personal essay and provide an academic reference.
The scholarship – the U. of A.'s largest scholarship in terms of generosity – is paid out over four years.
Salehmohamed and other top students, professors and staff were recently honoured at the U of A's 'Celebrate! Teaching, Learning Research' event.
