Spring break takes a literary turn at Surrey libraries
Surrey Libraries will have plenty of activities planned for teens over spring break, including writing workshops on creating comic and fantasy writing.
On Tuesday, March 19, join Sam Logan, creator of the webcomic Sam and Fuzzy, at 2 p.m. at the City Centre library for Comics & Characters. He’ll show you how to create, draw and design your own cartoon characters. Then you’ll use the characters to draw your own comic, from the planning stages to pencilling and inking.
On Wednesday, March 27, also at 2 p.m. at City Centre Library, fantasy author Lorna T. Suzuki presents Fantasy Writing. It’s a workshop and Q and A on writing fantasy and getting published.
Most branches will be hosting board games nights with Imperial Hobbies. Play games like Settlers of Catan, Werewolf, Dutch Blitz and Dominion. Pizza and snacks. Open to kids aged Grade 6 and up. Register to save your spot.
Play XBox on a big screen at City Centre, Guildford, and Port Kells at the video game club for Grades 6 and up. These drop in sessions are free.
On Tuesday, March 19 the Semiahmoo branch hosts Books into Movies Trivia Blast at 2 p.m.
