Family history help

The Cloverdale Library – home to one of the most extensive collections of Canadian genealogical materials in Western Canada – hosts upcoming sessions this fall for people who are interested in tracing their family history.

First up is Introduction to Family History, Sept. 8 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It’s for beginners who don’t know where to start. Cost is $10.

The branch also hosts a Family History Collection orientation session Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. The session covers online information, books and journals, plus microfilm records available for research. It’s free. Pre-registration recommended.

To register, visit the library (5642 – 176A Street), call 604-598-7328, or email familyhistory@surrey.ca.
