Leos pounce on Martha Currie

A recent highlight for Martha Currie was the visit of the Grey Cup to the school.

Barron Miles and Chris Boyko dropped in, accompanied by Geroy Simon who was carrying the Grey Cup.

The visiting Lions hosted an assembly for the students before providing an opportunity for all students to be photographed with them and the cup.

The Lions also took the time to speak to the students about the merits of hard work and that effort brings reward. The message: Hard Work Pays Off! Barron, now on the coaching staff of the Lions having retired from playing, gave the audience a bit of an insight into how a coach’s life differs from that of the player and the pressure such a position brings.

Barron also credited Chris Boyko, a strength and conditioning coach with the Lions, for getting the players into shape and allowing them to have longer successful careers.

Many thanks to Jaden, Jordan, Ava, Tayja and Kiana for dragging their dads to school so we could have a great day! GO LIONS!!!
