Ursula Maxwell is a 30-year journalism veteran specializing in history, colonial profiles, food, wine and theatre, unique spas, rail, islands, and senior travel in general. She has worked as a journalist in Britain, Canada, and South Africa, with assignments worldwide. Her editorial career began with the Benoni City Times, South Africa. She is publisher and travel editor of the Cloverdale Reporter News & Traveling Times, which she established in 1996. She also publishes the Heritage Christmas Magazine, freelances regularly for an assortment of publications, manages www.CloverdaleReporter.com and is co-founder and treasurer of the top-rated (North America) Surrey International Writers’ Conference. A former Surrey Continuing Education travel-writing teacher, she also produced a very successful Fraser Valley Consumer Travel Show. Her passions are travel, writing, photography, family, friends, and whatever makes people and places ‘tick’. She delights in her son, two daughters, and two lively grandsons. Affiliations: Past President of the Travel Media Association of Canada (BC Chapter), North American Travel Writers’ Association, B.C. Federation of Writers, Surrey Board of Trade, Surrey Tourism Association, and Friends of the Surrey Museum and Archives, Surrey Museum Community Advisory Committee, Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair (Publicity Director 1998-2000). Ursula Maxwell is a recipient of the Langley Arts Alive Travel Photography Award, the Royal Canadian Legion Media Award , the Beta Sigma Phi International Silver Circle, and Woman of the Year Awards.
